12th April

"Walked in the morning to the wood. In the evening up the Coombe, fine walk. The Spring advances rapidly, multitudes of primroses, dog-violets, periwinkles, stitchwort." Dorothy Wordsworth, 1798 (Somerset)

"[Easter Sunday] This morning was bleak and most ungenial; a chilly sunshine, piercing wind, a prevalence of watery cloud, - April weather, without the tenderness that ought to be half revealed in it." Nathaniel Hawthorne, 1857 (York)

2009

Another grey day, and a little cool, but Little Tree and our hedge both seem to have had a real growth spurt this Easter weekend, and are green, green, green!

2010
Clouds that started grey but rose to become high and white, then vanished to clear skies and a soft sunset sometime after 8.30pm. No threatened rainshowers after all, and there's May in the hedges... can we start to cast a clout, d'you think? (Does wearing Crocs count? *g*)
