This is a place to post photographs of your favourite view, maybe from your house, or on your journey to work, or from a favourite viewpoint. And another of that same view, but five minutes later because the light has changed. Or maybe the next day. Or once a day or once a week, whatever you find pleasing. Sequences! You don't have to post every day or every week. Now and again would be good!
Monet, the Impressionist Artist, painted the same scene over and over again, apparently, because he thought that it was never the same twice, due to the changing light. Now we're not quite in that class but he had a point. A while ago, I, Rosie, started taking photographs of the view from my front door, looking across the valley. Until then, I would have supposed that it didn't vary very much. Now, I know it does. And those changes, in light, weather, mood - are fascinating, unexpected, rewarding. And we have the wonderful facility of digital photography so that we can see the different effects at once and can share them with others almost as quickly. Mav_fan soon joined in and we have decided to set up this community and invite others to share the fun.
So who wants to look at the same view again and again? Well, quite a lot of our f-lists at least, it seems, and a few have decided to do the same exercise with their views. So keep us company - the more the merrier. Give us a window on your world!
This is somewhere to post those pictures. It's early days. we're relatively new to running a community, so we're starting simple. And constructive suggestions on how to improve this are welcome.
To get started, please join us - approvals should be very fast - and please post photographs under an lj-cut, so as not to clog up people's Friends page. Add as much or as little description about your scene as you are comfortable with. And please keep any comments you make on other people's entries helpful or constructive, no flaming! If you don't like - what we are doing or what you see, feel free not to visit again!
"How to"s? I, Rosie am a very amateur photographer but I try to take each shot of my chosen scene from the same place each time, focussing each picture on one particular point - the right hand clump of trees in one case, a particular tree in the hedge in another. But if you want to vary it more, that's up to you - it's whether the results please you that matters and that you are happy to share your pleasure with others.
Have fun! Go take photographs!
