I don't know if you have heard of our Great Bathroom Saga. Nasty seepage from shower recess meant that whole room had to be gutted and rebuilt. Thank heavens for Insurance!!! Also, because Insurance Co. said we couldn't live in a house without a bathroom, they put us up in this fantastic holiday unit/apartment for a week. It is just down the road from my place, so we could come back each day to see to the cats.

Anyway, thought you might like to see some photos of the scene from the balcony of the Unit.

How scenic - very blue and pretty! Bet you wish the repair work had taken a bit longer.*g*

I just wish we could have enjoyed it more. What with having to come back home each day for cats and builders enquiries, then having to go back each night for a shower and sleep, I feel more exhausted than ever.

If only I could afford a proper holiday in something like that. ::sigh::

Well, commiserations on the bathroom problems but wow, what a place to stay for a week! In fact, what a place to live. Can I come and ~~live with you~~ stay, *bg*?
It's wonderful to get this view of where you live, it looks absolutely stunning, and having that high view from the balcony means you're looking down on the pelicans, amazing!

It certainly was a WOW!! when we first walked into the Unit. We live four streets back (West) from there, have done for over 40 years, and there have been so many changes in the area. It has gone from a rather sleepy fishing village to an International Holiday destination. The main holiday highrises are in Surfers Paradise which is a bit south of us, so it is still relatively quiet in my area - thank heavens. :)

In pic No. 3, that is the Pacific Ocean way out on the horizon.

You live just down the road from that view? Blimey! I'm impressed......

We are very lucky. I grew up near the sea and just couldn't see myself being happy away from it.

Of course, as we were on the 9th floor, it is such a different perspective from what I see from the ground. Still good but not half as impressive.

That is totally gorgeous, what a stunning view. I wonder if you'd ever get sick of looking out on that.

It is a stunning view and no, didn't get sick of it at all. There was always something different to look at, from a bunch of tourists brought there to feed the seagulls and pelicans, people doing their daily constitutional, walking, jogging, riding bikes along the pathway, people swimming in the lagoon, boats, oh! everything.

You probably know the area. The Grand Hotel, Labrador, is right next door to where we were, overlooking The Broadwater.

Oh pretty! I hope your bathroom improves in time :-)

It is lovely.

We are back home now, and the bathroom is being used, but have had to get the painter back as he did the walls the wrong colour and the builder is coming tomorrow morning to check on the seal around the shower recess.

I'll be glad when it is all over, and we can get back to normal again. :)

A sort of a holiday - something different anyway. I have never stayed in accommodation like that before, so it was a lovely experience for me.

You certainly had a beautiful view, but nothing beats home and bet you are glad to be back.

The pelicans are quite a feature here. There is a Seafood place right on the water, the roof of which can be seen in Pic. No.2. The original owners started feeding the pelicans with the fish bits years ago so of course the new owners had to keep doing it. It is a lovely sight to see all the pelicans and seagulls congregating just before feed time.

Yes, glad to be back home. All I have to do now is settle down. :)

What a beautiful view you had! Isn't it amazing how a little height gives a new perspective on something to which you are so accustomed? Having lived in a house which has been in various states of construction, repair and improvement, I understand exactly how frustrating and exhausting all this was. When our shed blew down, giving us the opportunity for the new garage, we had to stay in a hotel (nowhere near as lovely), it was certainly nice to be back home afterwards!
