It's finished!

Since the hubby is going to do the painting, and he's waiting for drier weather, as well as some free time, I'm going to post this before painting.  It will be the same white color as the house, so you should get a good idea.

Picture heavy, perhaps not suitable for dial up.

9 April 2008, It's going to be electrified!

11 April 2008 - The magic device is installed!

That's right, I pushed the button and watched it go up and down for several minutes!

13 April 2008, When I woke up, I saw the hubby out mowing the lawn and I went out to tell him I was up, and I saw this.

I went and inspected a little closer, and here is the picture I've been waiting patiently to post!

TaDa!!!!  My car is parked INSIDE the garage!!!!!

Now, just to cement my reputation as a bald eagle obsessed mad woman, here is a close up of my license plate.

I'm so giddy!  Of course there are a few little finishing touches which need to be completed, like the painting, but we have a proper GARAGE!!!

Oh very exciting - congratulations! Love the sky-blue roofing too... *g*

I am going to have to check our double garage door .... I think we have the same pattern !

Different colour but yours looks familiar.

You can see why I thought your garage door was familiar ... not quite, but almost :)

meanwhile Harry has found out the truth re Sirius and Pettigrew ... they are about to leave the Shrieking Shack via the passage way to the base of the Whomping Willow.

After I uploaded I tried to delete as the picture is too big but LJ would not let me, typical.

I will read again tonight ... that Professor Snape is such a dork.

Yes .. this is where in Book 3 they left good bits out, we got some, but it is wrong to assume everyone who sees the movies has also read the books.

My husband gives me a running commentary of the first 3 ... he does not like 4 and 5, so I have to watch them on my own, which is best ... much quieter :)

I will wait until the rush is over i.e. school holidays are finished ... we almost have the theatre to ourselves.

[identity profile] shaw012145.livejournal.com 2008-04-14 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
The movies always come out to coincide with school holidays and the noise from them would be too much for my husband (he wears a hearing aid and it picks up everything). Better when it is quieter. Only 7 more months ... and then there is going to be a bit of a gap for the last movie ... the wait is going to be painful.

[identity profile] shaw012145.livejournal.com 2008-04-14 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
OMG !

I wear hearing aids too (both ears) ... when watching TV ... we have a loop going under the large mat in the lounge ... cuts out all other noise and you can just hear the sound coming from the telly.

Don't wearing them any other time as they pick up too much ... even if it is quiet, they will pick up the motor from the fridge.

We have cement floors ... so no thundering paws :)

Aww, congratulations on finally being able to put the car away again! And I love your number plate - we aren't allowed pretty ones like that in this country, ours are plain and boring. Or I could have - oooh, let me see - a blackbird, maybe or a blue tit? A crow? LOL! Perhaps not. But a bald eagle, oh that's quite something!

[identity profile] femsc.livejournal.com 2008-04-13 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Woohoo and wahey! You've done it!

I love your licence/license plate (two Cs in English; an S in American *g*), and not just because of the Eagle. 007? Snazzy, as my daughter would say, much.

I'm trying to persuade my husband that with a 36 yr old car I really, REALLY need a garage.

[identity profile] rosie55.livejournal.com 2008-04-14 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I am deeply envious of an automatic door! No, scratch that, I am deeply envious of being able to put your car in the garage. English homes are often mean with garage space, and we have only a single garage. When we moved here, my husband took priority because he went to work much earlier than me and didn't want to have to defrost the car each morning - it's usually melted by the time I go to work. But it's very odd, now that he is retired and doesn't need to go out at all, it's still his car in the garage and mine out in the cold. Funny that! But he'd probably argue that his twenty-five year old Merc needs to be cossetted.
You would be very envious of a friend of mine whose number plate starts with CI5! And yes, of course, she's a Pros fan!

I've got space for a garage, but my house is built on a two-way slope. The back garden slopes up from the house, and it also slopes from side to side. If I could get the slope sorted out I could have a garage. Unfortunately getting the slope levelled would cost a lot more money than I've got.

It's a bit of a pain, but on the other hand when the rest of the world is flooded our house is likely to escape because the water can run off in at least two directions at once. I'll have to see if a photo will show the problem.

Oh wow! Done! In some places that would qualify as a full family home with door, window, porch and all. Lovely!
