"Walked to Stowey, a fine air in going, but very hot in returning. The sloe in blossom, the hawthorns green, the larches in the park changed from black to green in two or three days." Dorothy Wordsworth, 1798 (Somerset)

Tomorrow starts the long Easter weekend, with a bank holiday either side - and so this rain wasn't unexpected! But without the rain, then the May wouldn't be so gloriously out everywhere, and that's one of my favourite sights... But as usual around here it cleared for the day, though we had some grim-looking clouds, and there was quite a promising sunset. Right now the moon is full and clear...

Blue skies to start with, then these high white clouds so that it seemed an ordinary day - but there's the feel of Spring to it still, and suddenly - after all my whinging last week! What has made the difference, I wonder? The percentage of blossom on the trees? Being a degree warmer? Actually seeing blue sky out there? Maybe it's the blue sky, cos the ingredients were there a week before - daffs, blossom on the trees, lambs in the fields... Oh, Little Tree's definitely behind though - you can just see the top of her in the 2010 pic - compared with last year! Byslantedlight, 2010 (Cambs.)
