I have been concentrating so hard on the trees in our front yard, the backyard has been almost completely ignored, excluding my trips to the back porch to take photos of the silo. Yesterday, I took a walk out into the backyard, come along on my little backyard excursion.
The first thing I noticed was these sprigs of I know not what. They are growing out of a stump which used to be either a pear tree or a plum tree.

Next I went out to our apple tree. I've only been taking pictures of it from afar, but when I went up close, look what greeted me!

Also, I looked South toward my stand of hazelnut trees.
They should really be trimmed.
Southeast, I saw an opportunity to get a new perspective on the garage and it also shows my walnut tree, about which I will be doing a series. I like this view because you can see how truly massive this stately old tree is.

On my way back into the house after my long and exhausting trek, I noticed the grass was still dew flecked.

Then, before making it back to the safety of the back porch, I was reminded once again that the garage/shed wasn't the only thing damaged in the big November wind storm. Our gutter was a victim of some flying debris.

As always, click on the picture once to see it larger, twice for bigger still.
