"(After tea) The air was become still, the lake was of a bright slate colour, the hills darkening. The bays shot into the low fading shores. Sheep resting. All things quiet." Dorothy Wordsworth, 1802 (Westmorland)

2009

Finally - a warm, dry, spring day, so that there were two bumblebees buzzing around Little Tree this morning and ants on my windowsill! The fields are rapeseed-yellow, the hedges white and vibrant green ...and in the evening everything was softened and made magical by the hazed, setting sunlight.

2010

This is the biggest lie of today (not counting the election stuff) - it's been the most gorgeous day, blue skies and blossom about, though the breeze was a little cool. It only clouded over around 6 this evening, and even then it's not really rained - though it thought about it as I was cycling home... Little Tree's a bit behind, but look at the hedge! And there are blossom trees in the distance, just as there were last year. No fields of rapeseed I'm glad to say - giving the earth a rest, like clever farmers! Byslantedlight, 2010 (Cambs.)
