It was a beautiful sunny morning this morning, so I decided it would be a good time to kick off my contribution to

These pics were taken at around 11am today in Heaton Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, which is less than two minutes walk from my house.

This view looks across Heaton Park and Armstrong Park, towards Jesmond Dene. I've always thought that we're very lucky to have so much open space in the middle of a big city like ours.

Not much going on here, admittedly, but I thought the light and shadows were nice.

I realise that by the time summer's here this will just be a mass of green with very few distinguishable features, but I thought it would be nice to see the trees changing as the months go by.

Date: 2008-01-27 10:00 pm (UTC)I look forward to seeing the trees fill out. I have almost decided to do that with three of our trees this year and see which gives the best show.

Date: 2008-01-28 05:35 am (UTC)It took me a little while to figure out what is so different from over here. Then it came to me. The length of the shadows at around 11 a.m. Shadows like that would be quite early morning here - must be the difference in latitude.
Looking forward to watching the trees as the leaves grow.
