These photographs (which possibly all look better large - click once or even twice!) were taken the same day that I had been looking at Sandra Lousada's amazing photographs of London Light which really made me itch to get my camera out and play. I was driving into Gloucester for a meeting but had a few minutes to spare and stopped off a couple of times to take pictures, first of a stormy looking sky
and
and then at the canal at Frampton on Severn (all of three miles further on but look how the sky had changed in that time!) where there is a handy bridge for water shots. As Lousada has shown, water and light can be lovely and canals are particularly pleasing as they have no current and therefore show reflections beautifully like these
and other pretty but conventional shots
but also allow you to capture the little water movements caused by water birds, like the wake behind this cygnet.

But the most Lousada type shots I managed were these -
and
both of reflections in the water.
I have treated myself to Lousada's book which I love and may be inspired to play more!
Hope you think these fit the criteria, J?
