Under the cut you'll find the building of our garage so far.
Just as a reminder (or as first time information) this is the reason for needing a new garage. Granted, this wasn't actually a garage, but it sits where we always wanted to put a garage.
Taken 12 November 2007

19 December 2007, after the junk has been cleared. Preparing the site for the new garage.

20 December 2007, the vague outline of the structure.

13 January 2008, the construction is stalled by a spot of rain.

7 February 2008, and it begins again, laying the form for the foundation.

14 February 2008, finishing the foundation forms.

20 February 2008, the foundation concrete has been poured.

22 February 2008, the forms are removed and the foundation stands alone.

3 March 2008, preparing the interior for pouring the slab which will be the garage floor.

Date: 2008-03-13 10:37 pm (UTC)I love my husband dearly, but he is not at all handy for building things. ;-) On the other hand, if you need someone arrested, he's the one you want for that.

Date: 2008-03-14 10:16 am (UTC)It must feel nicely safe to have someone like that around.
I'm the "handyman" in our relationship. He does hard work, too, and helps me carry the heavy stuff, but the How and When is handled by me. Otherwise it looks strange afterwards :-)

Date: 2008-03-14 01:49 am (UTC)I just this minute finished watching 'The Female Factor!' Fantastic episode, really wonderful. Doyle kicking in the window, the chase up the large winding stairs, then out the window, into the car park and Doyle gets shot! Way too much action for 51 minutes!

Date: 2008-03-14 05:35 pm (UTC)And oh, yes, you're definitely hooked now! Female Factor - possibly my favourite ep, for the sight of blue-chinned lads in tuxes with their bow ties all askew wandering, hands in pockets along the embankment! shaw012145 actually sent the lads to me with birthday greetings from that scene - if you look back at her LJ for 18 February you can see it! And I love Doyle kicking in the window. And Cowley furiously tearing a strip off Doyle for getting CI5 involved while the Police Inspector grins and then changing tack so smoothly and taking over the investigation when he realises that the number on the phonepad is the Prime Minister's private number - a much celebrated little scene in fandom there, almost as much for Bodie and Doyle's jaws dropping as the Inspector's, when Cowley does his complete volte face. Might have to watch that one again!

Date: 2008-03-15 03:24 am (UTC)Our regular contractor is very accustomed at this point to me and the camera, and his helpers on that day had obviously been forewarned. (Rochester did NOT like the contractor's brother who was there for the first time that day). But, the driver of the cement truck kept smiling at me as if to say, "Okay, why is the mad woman taking all the photos?"
